(Part One)
I am writing you this article from Chihuahua, Mexico!
As I told you last week if you had the chance to read my article, we are currently at the beginning stage of our trip to Mexico & USA, just the third day.
And in these 2 days we have done already many things and have been to a lot of places. Definitely it must be a great experience for someone who has not been out of China ever.
The group was very excited. I am not sure if they were excited because of the fact of getting to go and see our operation in Mexico and USA (All the business related part and the real reason of the trip) or the fact of getting to go to visit and see USA or Mexico for the first time or probably the real excitement was the opportunity to go shopping in USA which is now the cheapest country in the world to go buy luxury brand things like watches or purses
Me personally believe that the real excitement came from this last reason (Just kidding), I think that was all of the above.
I am traveling with 7 people from China, some are our employees and some our distributors.
Some, in this short period of time have been already to Japan, USA and Mexico!
Even if it was just a quick plane stop it is worth just seeing the airport in Tokio or Los Angeles.
We arrived to Dallas, Texas and stop there to sleep the first day because we arrived late at night close to midnight.
The first thing the noticed right away when we got out of the airport in Dallas was how different the air felt and they said it feels good and nice the breathe. It is quite different and not like Foshan or Shanghai.
I took them to the hotel that night and next day in the morning when I went to pick them up they made another interesting observation. They told me that the bed was very nice and soft and not quite the beds in China that are very hard.
I told them that we as foreigners when we are traveling in China sometimes prefer to sleep on the floor of the rooms of the hotels than on the beds because the floor feels a little softer than the hard beds.
The better hotels in USA use expensive mattresses and make this investment because they know that the customers will appreciate and remember how nice it felt t sleep in their beds.
I know that Chinese people prefer harder mattresses on their beds because it is good for your back but they noticed as well on this trip how super good it feels and how nice you sleep if you do it on a nice and soft mattress.
Anyway, later we had the morning free before taking our flight to Mexico and they wasted no time to go shopping even wasted no time even if it was only for a couple of hours.
We went to the nice and high end Galleria Mall in Dallas. As soon as we got in it became a madhouse!
It was hard to keep the group in control, some wanted to go see watches, some others wanted to go see clothing stores, and only me and another person just wanted to walk around.
In just under 3 hours more than 20,000 RMB were spent because I told them not to buy anything expensive yet because we were traveling to Mexico and then back to USA and it was better to do the shopping when we were back to USA. But some couldn’t resist. At this rate of 10,000 or 20,000 RMB per hour the group could spend easily 1,000,000 RMB or more.
Who wouldn´t do it, if some of the prices of certain articles are up to 60% cheaper than China.
All of these things already happened on just the first 2 days! I feel than I am going to be able to write a book about all this experiences of this trip.
I hope you would be interested in reading them because they are going to be funny and worth reading.
