中国的同质化是否已经接近尾声?
A couple of days ago I read an article that was forwarded to me by the Mexican Consulate and I was quite interested in the similarity of the things they mention in this article to what is happening in the ceramic industry in China.
几天前,我读了一篇由墨西哥领事给我转发的文章,文章里面提及的东西和在中国陶瓷行业所发生的事情有很多相似的地方,我认为颇有意思。
To any person that has been able to travel to China or live in this country or whenever the topic of China comes up everyone ends up making and agreeing to the following conclusions:
对于一些能够到中国旅游或者在这里居住人,无论何时提起中国的话题,都会有以下的结论:
· China is a huge Country in size and population,
中国是一个人口数量巨大和领土辽阔的国家。
· China has a very peculiar way of thinking and doing things and its culture has a very deep tradition that it is very though to change. It is highly more probable that we (Foreigners living in China) will change than China changing its mentality or way of thinking.
中国拥有独特的思维方式和行为模式,有非常深厚的传统,要改变这些是非常困难的。最合适的方法是,我们(生活在中国的外国人)做出改变,而不是让中国人改变他们的理念和思维方式。
I have not met yet a foreigner (Laowai) that has not experienced this in China where its cultural and social thinking goes back for centuries and has not changed much in many ways. Many of these cultural things are really good and some not so good.
基本上我认识的外国人(老外)都在中国有过这样的经历,中国的那些要追朔到很多个世纪之前的文化和社会思维都没有什么改变。这些文化里很多都是非常好的,但是有一些则不那么好。
The one thing that is not very good is the immense amount of “Copy Kat” companies in many of the industries and ours is not an exception. Everybody just copy everyone else. Most companies are just too worried or alert of what everyone else is doing and if it works for the other company then guess what? The copy machine starts working.
不怎么好的事情包括在很多行业都存在的数量庞大的“山寨”公司,我们陶瓷行业也不例外。每个企业都在抄袭其它企业。大多数公司都对其它企业正在做的事情过分关心和警觉,如果他们发现那些公司做得不错你猜接下来会怎么样?抄袭的机器就开始运作了。
What is happening in the world at this moment, with the European economies in recession, the dollar and the euro at the same rate almost. Spain, Brazil and Turkey almost selling porcelain tiles at the same prices than China is a super big wakeup call to our industry and if you are ignoring this you may be in trouble pretty soon.
世界上现在在发生什么呢,欧洲的经济在衰退,美元和欧元的汇率已经差不多一样了。西班牙,巴西和土耳其的瓷质砖价格已经和中国差不多了,这对于我们行业来说是一个大警钟,如果你还在忽略这个现实的话,你可能很快会遇到麻烦。
When the manufacturing companies in China are NO LONGER able to be competitive in PRICING or completely lose this advantage to Spain or Brazil or Turkey then what?
当中国的生产企业在价格上相对西班牙,巴西或土耳其不再具备那样的竞争优势,甚至完全失去价格优势的时候,会怎么样呢?
The easy business of selling just because your pricing is low is not going to work anymore and copying is not enough as well.
那种通过低价优势实现的简单销售再也行不通,抄袭也将不再管用。
The entrepreneur in China, the ceramic companies in China if they want to survive and stand out they better start innovating NOW! And even sometimes you have to radically change or innovate to offer products and services that satisfy the consumers in China that are more demanding and knowledgeable and also offer products or business proposals that are completely new. A couple of good examples are Alibaba or Xiaomi.
中国的企业,中国的陶瓷企业们,如果他们想要生存下去,想要脱颖而出,他们最好马上开始创新!即使有时候这意味着进行一些大刀阔斧的改变和创新,他们需要为更高要求更有见识的中国消费者提供令他们满意的产品和服务,甚至是一些全新的产品和商业模式。一些好的例子比如阿里巴巴和小米。
These businesses also have another thing in common they stopped thinking and doing things the way they were for decades, centuries and understood that change was necessary to make a difference in a culture that is extremely used to be the same way and not changing with many companies that became huge by just copying products, other brands and businesses.
这些企业都有一些共同点,那就是他们摈弃了延续了几十年甚至几个世纪的老的思维方式和行为模式,懂得了改变的必要性,打造了一种独有的文化,和那种固守陈规,靠着抄袭其它品牌的产品而壮大起来的企业截然不同的文化。
I know that at least some of you understand the urgency of changing. Wake Up! Pricing is no longer an advantage in our ceramic business anymore if you want to export to America, Europe, Canada or Australia. Huge markets for China that may start severely shrinking unless you seriously start innovating, upgrading and changing your mind set.
我知道至少你们中间的一些人会理解改变的紧迫性。醒过来吧!在我们行业如果你要出口到美国,欧洲,加拿大或者澳大利亚的话,价格将很快不复优势。中国的那些巨大市场可能会开始缩水,除非你开始认认真真地创新,升级,并且改变你的理念。
